The Sibley-Ocheyedan High School welcomes Ms. Rebecca Finck. She is one of two new history teachers at the high school. Ms. Finck graduated from Rock Valley High School, then continued her education at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Ms. Finck noted that she has really liked teaching at S-O so far this year.
Growing up she noted that she never really had a favorite subject. Of her two siblings, she is closest to her brother. She said growing up for her was an enjoyable experience. In college, she had a friend group that consisted of many foreign exchange students.
When it comes to cats and dogs, she prefers dogs. Her favorite food is strawberries; however, she has told many of her students that she loves using a chocolate chip scone mix from Walmart. She enjoys both books and movies, but has a large collection of movies she keeps in one of her kitchen cabinets. Ms. Finck’s favorite weird food combination is applesauce jello. She loves her four plants that she has; the oldest of the four is eight years old.
In the future, she hopes to pay off her student loans. She states, “Birthday parties are for people who need attention.” Her last birthday party was when she was seven years old. Her favorite color is a range of blues. Her advice for seniors who are going into college is to organize their time wisely.
