UPDATE: Due to the high wind, the crane will not be in operation today, July 10th, 2019. The High School will be closed on Thursday, July 11th, as the large crane will be in operation placing large, heavy HVAC equipment on the roof of the High School building. The public is still welcome to park in the West end of the High School parking lot on Thursday and view the large crane in operation!
Good morning everyone,
The construction projects at the MS/HS are coming along, and this next week is shaping up to be visually exciting to say the least! Next Wednesday and Thursday, July 10 and 11, there will be a large crane helping to install rooftop units for the HVAC retrofit. I’m told it is very impressive to watch, so I encourage you to come and check it out!
The crane comes with six semis. This equipment will block of 11th Street in front of the MS/HS on Wednesday and possibly part of Thursday. During this time, you will still be able to access the workout facility and parking lots from the north end of 11th Street. The offices will be closed on Wednesday due to this construction work.
When completed with the work from the west, they will move and reset the equipment back by the industrial arts area on the north side of the building. You will not be able to access the north parking or baseball field areas on Thursday, but will be able to park in the west parking lot and enter the building through main entrances.
This is all dependent on weather, of course, as the crane cannot operate in high winds or with lightning around. Please call if you have questions.
