REGISTRATION: Parents are asked to register students and pay fees in the high school commons in Sibley on Tuesday, AUGUST 2nd from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m., or Wednesday, AUGUST 3rd from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. PLEASE TRY TO PAY FEES ON THE DATES MENTIONED. Should it not be convenient to complete registration on one of the above dates, it may be accomplished AFTER THE ABOVE DATES through arrangement by calling 754-360l or 754-2533.

Information including school rules, policies, calendar, health up-date forms, free and reduced price lunch applications, etc. will be distributed during registration on August 2nd and 3rd at the Sibley-Ocheyedan High School. These forms are also available on the school website. To complete registration in a more timely manner for your child(ren), please have the forms filled out prior to coming to registration. We will have stations set up in the commons to fill out and sign all of your paperwork and pay your registration fees. Please note: The Health Update form must be completed for each student.

ORIENTATION FOR INCOMING 9TH GRADE STUDENTS will be on August 22nd at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. All 9th grade students should attend. If unable to attend, please call the high school office to make arrangements.

(The maximum family material fee is $130.00.)
Middle School students who use school-owned band instruments will be charged a $75.00 rental fee, High School students will be charged $25.00 per ensemble for school-owned band instruments.

FREE & REDUCED PRICE LUNCHES & BREAKFASTS: In compliance with federal and state guidelines, the Sibley-Ocheyedan Schools offer free or reduced price lunches and breakfasts to those qualified who choose to fill out an application. Those who were on a free or reduced schedule in 2015-2016, will automatically continue through September 30, 2016. A new application is required for continuation in the program after September 30, 2016 and parents are urged to submit a new application as soon as possible, preferably, prior to September 1, 2016. Students who receive free or reduced lunches must pay full price for any second meals and ala carte items.

FEE WAIVER: Students whose families meet the income guidelines for free and reduced price lunch, the Family Investment Program (FIP), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), transportation assistance under open enrollment, or who are in foster care are eligible to have their student fees waived or partially waived. Parents or students who believe they may qualify for temporary financial hardship should contact the office of the superintendent or principals for a waiver form. This waiver does not carry over from year to year and must be completed annually.

STUDENT INSURANCE: For 2016-2017, student insurance will be available. You may obtain forms online at https://www.sas-mn.com/enronline/sibley.html. If you elect to participate in the student insurance plan, the premium must be paid to directly to the company as soon as possible to insure coverage from the first day of school.

Hawk-i (Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa)
The hawk-i (Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa) program is designed to provide health care coverage for uninsured children under the age of 19. A brochure including an application form can be obtained at school or by calling the hawk-i customer service center at 1-800-257-8563. More details and applications are available at www.hawk.i.org.

SPORTS PHYSICALS: Students going out for sports are reminded to get sports physicals before the first day of practice. Student athletes will not be allowed to practice until obtaining a physical.
